2019- University of Calgary - Duelling Dinos!

About This Campaign

Duelling Dinos

It’s been a long semester – challenge your professor, colleague, or friend to a duel.

Where: Red Gym at the University of Calgary
When: December 3, 2019 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Who: This event is open to the public – participants are asked to register in pairs.

What will we do?

We will begin with 40 minutes of instruction in the classical Olympic style of épée fencing. No previous knowledge or experience is necessary. We will cover basic stance, movement, attacks, and defence. Then the challenge begins – you will engage in a referred bout (the fencing term for a scored match) with your partner. Time and desire permitting, rematches will be possible.

Challenge your professor, colleague, or friend to a duel by sending them this link to the registration page and ensuring that you both sign up. Payment is due upon registration.

Challenge your fencing partner to either a duel or a friendly challenge:

DUEL: The challenger and the challenged party each register for the event, with the agreement that whoever wins the duel has their entry donation paid for by the defeated party – $50.00 for both parties.

FRIENDLY CHALLENGE: The challenger and the challenged party each donate $25.00 (due at time of registration), and the outcome of your duel is for bragging rights.

Indoor running shoes and long pants are required. Fencing equipment (jacket, mask, épée) will be provided, and is included in your registration. Standing and parafencing possible.
